大学准教授、会社経営者、テクノトラックメイカー、女優、漫画家にて構成される民謡テクノグループ。
メンバーは古澤彰（Vo,G,Programming）、本間本願寺（G.Programming）、椿かおり（Vo）、神無月ひろ（Vo）の4名。
LOWBORN SOUNDSYSTEMは、「日本民謡をテクノに変換するサウンドシステム」。
阿波踊りやソーラン節などの民謡を、四つ打ちのビートとクラブサウンドで再構築し、
フロアで踊れる音楽として更新するプロジェクトである。
その音楽性は
Electro、Disco、Techno、House、Alternative Punk、Hip Hop…etc
がカオスに入り混じった独創性に富むサウンドを持ち味とする。
その独特のサウンドは1stCDリリース時に試聴を開始すると同時に、
各メディアから突出したオリジナリティと絶賛され、
音楽誌面の新譜レビューや、大型CDショップのPOPでは、
2000年代のスターリン、プラスチックスと例えられた。

2006年から電子音中心の【LIVE、DJ、お笑い】による
カオティック・エレクトロニックミュージック・パーティー
『ギリギリシティ』をオーガナイズし2026年2月時点で21年間で第152回と長寿イベントなっている。
2021年デジタルEP『LAST GMAE』はiTunesエレクトロニックチャート3位を記録。

2021年12月には文化庁補助対象事業として『ギリギリシティvol.127』を渋谷VISIONにて、

2025年3月7日リリースのデジタルEP『It’s a show time』にはfeatで
掟ポルシェ(ロマンポルシェ。)、イルリメ、サイプレス上野、
ポチョムキン(餓鬼レンジャー)、ZIGHT(ex.Night Camp Click)、
リミックスでサワサキヨシヒロ、DJ TASAKA、MCあんにゅと本間本願寺、
ローボーンのリーダー古澤の実弟であるTakashi Furusawa等、
ローボーンやギリギリシティに馴染み深い多数のアーティストがゲスト参加した。
収録曲のユニークなMVがNMB48がMCを務める音楽番組
関西テレビ「音いたち」にてヘビーローテションされた。
同番組ではネクストブレイクアーティストとして特集され、
2週連続でゲスト出演を果たす。
また同作タイトル曲の「It’s a showtime」が
関西テレビ「千原ジュニアの座王」がED曲に起用。

【About LOWBORN SOUNDSYSTEM】
LOWBORN SOUNDSYSTEM is a Japanese electronic music project that
reimagines traditional Japanese folk songs through rave culture.
Rather than preserving folk music as a museum piece, we transform it into living dance music
—music that belongs on the dance floor, at festivals, and in clubs around the world.
Our sound is rooted in Japanese folk traditions, while drawing musical inspiration
from artists such as Todd Terry, Underworld, Orbital, Leftfield, and Kraftwerk.
Equally important is the philosophy that shaped us.
The artistic freedom of The KLF, the futuristic vision of Detroit Techno,
and the cultural innovation pioneered by Afrika Bambaataa
taught us that electronic music can do more than make people dance
—it can connect communities, cross cultures, and create entirely new musical languages.
Detroit classics such as “Strings of Life” and “Hi-Tech Jazz”
profoundly influenced our way of thinking about music and DJ culture.
They showed us that electronic music could be emotional, soulful, and culturally meaningful.
Afrika Bambaataa inspired us with the idea that music is a universal
language capable of bringing together different cultures, identities, and traditions.
LOWBORN SOUNDSYSTEM follows that same spirit by connecting
Japanese folk culture with contemporary electronic music.
Our goal is not simply to create “Japanese Techno.”
Our goal is to build a new form of Japanese Folk Rave
—where centuries-old traditions meet the energy, freedom,
and inclusiveness of global dance culture.
